Lift off!!
Discovery rocketed into the skies above NASA's Kennedy Space Center today, returning the Shuttle fleet to flight after more than two years of hard work by the entire NASA team.

"Are you going to watch it?""
"Watch what?"
"The shuttle, it's going off in a few minutes"
"Oh, it's still on? I'd completely forgotten about it"
"Nelso just called me, he's watching it"
Thank you Pimie, for reminding me.
PP and I were on our way out when we noticed someone had turned on the TV in the Board Room. From a corner of the door leading into the BR, we watched as it lifted off of the pad. We immediately hustled on out to the parking lot, followed by several other co-workers. We waited and discussed wich direction we'd be seeing it, then suddenly from behind a lone cloud in the hazy blue sky one of us saw the tell tale tail, and suddenly a short moment of silence came over us. We each recalled previous launchs and landings, and appluaded what to our untrained eyes appeared to be a successfull lift off. As we watched, a bright light shone for a short moment, we deduced it must've been from the separation of the fuel tanks, then it slowly disappeared and all that was left was the stream in the air.
We weren't alone, in the middle of the road, excited onlookers from the building across the street, from the building next door, from the other building at the cul-de-sac were all out there, excited to witness the Return to Flight.
Let us all pray for a safe return.
