West Coast!!

Now, what the hell was I smoking when I agreed to a 10ish day trek around the West Coast in August????

Has anyone been checking the temperatures in that area??

And JBen doesn't like running the AC in his car!!

NO CAMPING!!

Well . . . I just went to a Toyota site to see if my old 1998 VW Beetle qualifies as a clunker . . . . and it does not!  Pooey!

The thing has 104,500ish miles and it is diesel . . . the site "thinks" it averages combined 38MPG; they're not too far off.  In the city, I average 31MPG, on the highway, I've broken 40MPG . . . yeah, not too shabby for an 11yr old blue ball, huh? 

Why would I want to get rid of it?

The thing is 5-speed manual transmission, and has a bunch of little things falling apart; the latest, I think I might have to invest some $$ into new breaks.  Ok, ok, breaks are standard maintenance stuff.  I know, no getting around that.

As I near 50yrs of age, I yearn for comfort:  automatic transmission, polyester pants, elastic waist bands, . . . NO CAMPING.  I've paid my dues in life, I want comfort.  5-speed manual transmission is not comfort; it is control, but not comfort.

Now, even if it did qualify as a clunker, I don't think I'd buy Toyota.  I'm liking that Mini Clubman!!

And, while the original plans had me flying out to Seattle to start a 10ish-day trek meandering around the West Coast and ending up in Vegas; a chat that JBen and I had earlier today might have me staying home instead.  We'll see how things develop, if they do.

Well, WorkdayMonday is officially over for me!

I have a messload of things I need (or would like) to get done before heading to the West Coast on Sunday . . . at least I got my laundry done and did a major cleaning in my bathroom.

I love hitting the road, but so do not enjoy the getting ready that comes before (or the putting away crap afterwards).  This time will be the first traveling w/Enbrel and have already warned JBen he'll have to shoot me up next two mondays cuz I just don't have the cojones to git'r done!  We'll see how that goes!  Not to mention, the stupid med has to be kept cool temperature . . . ha!  Lots of luck w/that! 

Wouldn't it be funny if I were to have to travel w/one of those red organ donor coolers, just to keep the thing cool?  On 2nd thought, nah, it wouldn't be so funny.  It'd be a royal pain in the ass!

Tonight . . . if I'm up for it . . . sweeping and mopping the stupid ceramic floor; but I'm really in the mood to go to TJMaxx instead. We'll see how that goes! 

That great list of things to do today, that I had written out last night . . . well, it's just a list and not a damned thing has been done.

All good intentions of getting so very much done today have gone by the way side and have been replaced by heating pad and Pampring.  Yup, TMI . . . too bad!

To top it off, it's thundering and pouring outside . . . so it's the ideal day to stay on the couch w/my blankey (in the middle of Florida Summer) and anything that helps me feel better.  Good thing is, I'll feel all better tomorrow.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get some of the stuff on that list done'n checked off; but today, it's couch and HGTV.
